Trek Marlin 6 Mens Hardtail Mountain Bike 2020 in Grey

Brand:Trek

Code:287872020

The Trek Marlin 6 hardtail mountain bike is perfect if you're testing the waters of off-road riding, and want a real mountain bike at great value, with a wide range of gears to cover more ground on the road and trail.

The heart of Marlin 6 is a lightweight Alpha Silver Aluminium frame with internal routing to protect your cables and add to the bike's sleek look. It has an efficient 2x8 drivetrain, hydraulic disc brakes that work in all conditions and a suspension fork with 100mm of travel and a lockout feature that lets you temporarily lock the suspension for better efficiency while climbing.

It's also equipped with rack and kickstand mounts which make it a great choice if your mountain bike doubles as your commuter.

Smaller frame sizes (13.5 and 15.5) have smaller 27.5 inch wheels and short-reach brake levers that make it easier and more comfortable for riders with smaller hands to brake confidently, and have a curved top tube and a lower standover height that makes it easier to mount and dismount. There are also separate brake and gear levers (a feature that's common on more expensive mountain bikes) so you can fine-tune the positioning for comfort.

All this makes the Marlin suitable for all ages from 12 years to adult, great to ride off road, but also perfect for commutes to work or school on any surface.

Mountain Bike Sizing Guide

Mountain Bikes tend to use the T-Shirt sizing of S, M, L etc. or will have the seat tube measurement in INCHES. Why mountain bikes are inches and road bikes are CM who knows, but the part of the frame being measured is the same.

As a rule of thumb if you can identify your size as Medium on one brand, you should use that as a starting point on another brand too.

If you already own a medium mountain bike for example and are comfortable with the sizing, start there.

What is your height? Your suggested bicycle size
Feet/Inches Centimetres Suggested Size

5'6" - 5'10" 168cm - 178cm Medium (17.5-18")
5'10" - 6'1" 178cm - 185cm Large (18.5-20")
6'1" - 6'4" 185cm - 193cm X-Large (20.5-22")
