Exposure Lights FAQ
About Exposure Lights
Exposure Lights first launched 20 years ago and was parent company USE’s first venture into LED lighting. Born from a passion for cycling, and dissatisfied with the lighting technology available at the time, over the last 2 decades Exposure has been busy perfecting the ultimate lights for night riding. Being hand-built in the UK means they know a thing or two about changeable conditions, and what a product needs to hold up in even the roughest weather.
Off-Road Exposure Lights
Under the cover of complete darkness, only the brightest lights will do. The Exposure Lights off-road range contains some of the highest lumen lights you’ll find on the market, which will illuminate your favourite trails and allow you to ride as hard as you would during the day.
For night-time MTB/Off-Road riding, you will need both a bar-mounted light and a head torch. We’ve highlighted some key models below.
Exposure Lights Six Pack Mk15 Front Bike Light
Best for: Downhill and Enduro riders who want enough visibility to ride their favourite trails at the same speed they would during the day

The Six Pack is Exposure’s most powerful and feature-packed light to date. Now delivering a massive 6000 lumens and with a runtime of 2-36 hours depending on usage, this light sets a new benchmark in off-road bike lights.
The 15th iteration of this iconic light features a six-emitter configuration with enhanced lensing – a 12-degree focused spot beam for long-distance visibility, plus 5 16-degree beams to precisely light the surrounding trail.
The body of the light is made from CNC-machined 6063 aluminium, finished with gunmetal grey hard anodising. Rated IK09 for impact resistance and IP67 water/dust ingress protected, this light is ready for the toughest conditions you can throw at it.
Key Features:
- Max Lumens: 6000
- Run Time: 2 – 36 Hours
- Weight: 403g
- OSD+ Full Colour Display
- Reflex 2.0 automatic adjustment/power saving
- Power Bank Mode (Charge other devices from USB-C Port)
Exposure Lights MaXx-D MK17 Front Bike Light

The MK17 version of the MaXx-D benefits from the addition of another 45-15 degree Oval Beam wide lens that increases the spread of light. Two 16-degree spot beams give you the ability to see far down the trail and push the limits of your night-time riding.
Like the Six Pack, the MaXx-D is housed in a CNC-machined 6063 body that features IK09 impact resistance and IP67 water/dust ingress protection. Meaning this light is ready to take a beating in the harshest conditions.
Key Features:
- Max Lumens: 4850
- Runtime: 2-36 Hours
- Weight: 403g

Exposure Lights FAQ
What is Exposure Lights’ warranty period?
All Exposure Lights come with a 2-year warranty that covers manufacturing defects. The LED’s have a lifetime warranty, giving you peace of mind. Just make sure you keep your proof of purchase!
Are Exposure Lights repairable?
Yes, if your light has an issue outside of its warranty period, Exposure offers a paid servicing/repair option that enables you to keep your light running for years to come. You just need to contact their service centre at [email protected]
Are Exposure Lights Waterproof?
All 2026 Exposure Lights are IP67 Waterproof and dust-resistant, meaning they can handle heavy rain, mud and submersion.
In some older models, you will find an IP65 rating. These can also handle rain and water splashes etc, but cannot be submerged under water or handle high-pressure/high-temperature washes.
What is TAP Technology?
TAP allows you to change the output mode by simply tapping on the body of the light, without needing to locate a button. A particularly useful feature for off-road riding when the trail gets technical, and you need more power.
What is Reflex Technology?
Reflex automatically adjusts the light, providing a higher lumen output when you’re travelling at speed and dimming for slower sections like climbs etc. This allows you to optimise your battery capacity by providing extra illumination when needed, and reducing the output when it’s not. This is achieved by using data from 3D accelerometers and constantly analysing this data while on the go.
What does AKTiv do on Road models?
Utilised on Exposure’s road-focused Strada range, AKTiv automatically dips the beam of the light when it detects oncoming traffic. Once the vehicle has passed, the light will return to full beam. This setting can be overridden if desired.
