Buying Christmas presents for loved ones, family and friends can be a stressful experience. Especially if they have a hobby or are into a sport and appear to have all the gear already. What do you get them? They might be developing a love of all things two-wheeled and still determining what works for them or what they might need.

We asked around Head Office to see what our road riders would like to get this Christmas. Read on to see if we can help steer you through the gifting challenge.

Castelli Perfetto RoS Jacket

The Italian brand Castelli has produced high-end clothing for road cyclists for many years. They have a heritage synonymous with the professional racing peloton, so you know their products will be fit for purpose.

The Castelli Perfetto RoS Jacket is one such garment. Made using Gore-Tex Infinium and Windstopper fabrics, it has been designed to work in the harshest conditions while keeping the rider warm and dry. The combination of these fabrics provides warmth and is water-resistant due to the fleece lining and the other is stretchy, making for a better fit.

Castelli has made changes to this popular jacket, added reflectivity on the rear, an additional pocket for more storage and a two-way zip to make temperature control more manageable.

A must-have item for all serious road riders’ wardrobes. Castelli sizing does come up on the smaller side so going up a size from the rider’s normal choice would be wise.

Endura Pro SL 3-Season Jacket

Designed and made in Scotland, the Endura Pro SL 3-Season Jacket is water-resistant and has well-positioned wind panels. Ideal for the UK climate when you can experience a mix of conditions in one ride. It is breathable and lightweight so you will not overheat should it warm up. If you still need to cool down, then the full-length zip and under-arm and wrist ventilation zips will allow the heat to disperse.

Alternatively, if the mercury drops, the Pro SL 3-Season Jacket comes with a lightweight and highly breathable Primaloft Active Evolve Gilet, that can also be removed.

Rear pockets provide plenty of storage and there is a zippered pocket for your essentials.

Endura FS26-Pro Thermo Bibtights

Riding through Autumn into Spring can pose a few challenges regarding kit. Getting cold and wet can ruin a ride but not if you have the right gear. The Endura FS260-Pro Thermo Bibtights have several features to help stave off the worst conditions and let you enjoy your ride. Endura has used luxurious Thermo  Roubaix fabric that has been treated with a PFC-free DWR treatment that provides insulation comfort and water repellency.

Reflective trim provides additional visibility for other road users and the ankle zips make for easy access.

Endura Strike Gloves

Cold hands can ruin a ride, if your hands get wet, they can also get cold and that is a double whammy that will put a dampener on any ride. The Strike Gloves from Endura are great waterproof gloves with gel padding for comfort. They are not bulky so you can still control your bike easily and confidently.

Reflective trim aids visibility and the cuff has been extended for greater coverage with a velcro adjuster to get the right.

Hiplok FX Wearable Retractable Lock

Keeping your pride and joy safe is paramount, regardless of how long you are stopping for. Even if you are just making a quick pit stop for a well-earned coffee. The Hiplok FX Wearable Retractable lock is an ideal ride companion. Small enough to be worn or slipped into a pocket or bag, it will deter opportunists or allow you to secure your bike whilst you grab a brew inside.

Hiplok Ankr

The Hiplok Ankr is not a product for your road rider to take with them but rather a solid, reliable wall or ground anchor to keep their pride and joy safe at home. It has been designed for simple installation but that does not detract from its effectiveness. Independently tested, it has been awarded the highest Diamond Level Security rating for both motorbikes and bicycles.

Quad Lock Phone Case

Rather than using a bike computer or GPS, some riders like to use their smartphone instead of taking another device. Quad Lock has a range of products designed to keep your mobile safe but also securely attached to your bike.

The Quad Lock Phone case is rugged and tough, and the dual-stage lock will ensure your phone remains just where you want it.

Quad Lock Out Front Mount

The Quad Lock Out Front Mount stays securely attached to your bike’s handlebars so you can then unclip your phone when you have finished and take it away with you. During your journey, your mobile phone will remain in place but clearly visible.

Ortlieb Velocity Backpack

Carrying your gear to work, school or popping to the shops, you want a bag that will not only have enough capacity but also keep everything safe and dry. The Ortlieb Velocity Backpack has a 29L capacity, a zippered inside pocket and a padded compartment for your laptop. The other standout advantage of the Ortlieb range is the use of waterproof materials, a must when riding in the UK. The straps are easy to adjust, and the waistband is equally adjustable but can be removed.

The roll-top closure is quick and easy and will stay closed to prevent water ingress.

Wahoo KICKR Core Smart Turbo Trainer

Time and weather may persuade many to take their riding indoors. The Wahoo KICKR Core Smart Turbo Trainer opens a new world of training and racing. Not only is the data you can collect and monitor comprehensive, but the trainer is compatible with Zwift and Trainer Road, online interactive training platforms thanks to the ANT+ and Bluetooth connectivity.

The Wahoo KICKR Core can simulate gradients up to 16% and is accurate to +2%. It can accommodate disc brake bikes and is thru-axle compatible. If you want the ultimate ‘pain cave’ setup, it will link up to Wahoo’s eco-system including the Headwind, Element bike computers and the CLIMB.
