Please note, all riders must be 18 years or older for this event.
We operate a no refund policy within 28 days of the event, unless the event is cancelled or for any reason we cannot fulfil your booking.
- OBLIGATIONS OF THE BORROWER
1.1. A correctly fitting bicycle helmet must be worn and shown before the demo lights will be loaned
1.2. The borrower agrees to use the lights properly and carefully. The lights must not be left on their bike unattended and it is not permitted to transfer the lights to third parties.
1.3. After the loan duration has expired, the borrower must return the lights to the lender in the condition agreed in the contract
1.4. When returning the lights, the borrower must report to the lender any defects or damage that have occurred - LIABILITY
2.1. The borrower is responsible for any damages that result from negligence or improper use. The borrower is liable for the costs of the repair or replacement in the event of loss, theft or damage to the lights, unless it is proven that the damage is due to deliberate or grossly negligent operational faults of the units caused by the lender.
2.2. The lights are used at borrower’s own risk. The lender assumes no liability for damage to property or personal injury. The lender assumes no liability for unforeseen damage, except in cases of intent or gross negligence.
2.3. If damage is determined when the lights are returned that has not been listed in this contract, it will be assumed that the borrower is responsible for the damage, unless the borrower proves that the damage already existed when he/she took over use of the units.
2.4. In the event of theft or accident, the lender is entitled to pass on the information provided above about the borrower to third parties (police, etc.). - PRIVACY POLICY
I agree that the above information about my person may be used by Balfe’s Bikes UK Ltd for the purposes of marketing and advertising, customer support (e.g. personalised customer information), contact, or market and opinion research (e.g. customer surveys).
By taking part in this event, you confirm that you are happy to appear in photo/video for social media purposes unless specified otherwise. - FINAL PROVISIONS
4.1. There are no verbal ancillary agreements to this agreement.
4.2. Changes to this agreement must be made in writing. This also applies to changes to this written form clause.
4.3. In the event that individual provisions of this agreement are or become fully or partially invalid or infeasible, or in the event that this agreement contains loopholes, this shall not affect the effectiveness of the other provisions of this agreement. In place of the ineffective, impracticable or missing provision, such an effective and enforceable provision shall be agreed between the parties as they would have agreed upon in consideration of the economic purpose of this agreement if they had known of the ineffectiveness, impracticability or absence of the respective provision when concluding this agreement.
The parties must confirm such a provision in the form requested, but at least in writing.
Disclaimer/T&Cs for Balfe’s Bikes Organised Cycle Rides:
- We at Balfe’s Bikes want you to enjoy the ride, however please understand that your safety, and that of other road/cycle path users, is of the highest priority. You are responsible for your actions; always prioritise safety first, obey the highway code and ride in a respectful way. The wearing of a cycle helmet is compulsory. Lights are compulsory during dark hours and advised in poor light conditions. Please also bring a puncture repair kit and a multi-tool.
- By signing this agreement, you are confirming that you are in good general health with no conditions that could mean that your judgement is impaired, balance affected, or safety compromised in any way. Neither are you under the influence of any substances, prescribed or otherwise, that could affect the safety of your ride.
- You confirm that you are a competent rider who understands and will obey road traffic law relating to cyclists.
- You confirm that you understand that insurance cover for personal injury to persons participating in Balfe’s Bikes organised cycle rides is not provided.
- You confirm that you have your own personal liability insurance in the event of a collision.
- By taking part in this event, you confirm that you are happy to appear in photo/video for social media purposes unless specified otherwise.
All event attendees will be asked to sign a waiver on the day confirming they are happy with the above terms.
