Specialized released the original Stumpjumper in 1981, flipping the switch on mountain biking worldwide. Fast forward 43 years and we’re now on the 15th iteration of this iconic MTB. Once again they’re here to change the game, obliterating every trade-off in the trail bike game.

Stumpjumper 15 promises short-travel playfulness and efficiency, while also devouring bumps like a big bike, thanks to it’s new GENIE shock technology.

GENIE Shock Technology

The biggest innovation on the new Stumpjumper is the GENIE shock with patent-pending air spring technology invented by the “Specialized Science Club”.

Genie grants every trail rider 3 wishes:

  1. Feel and control of a coil spring
  2. Better bottom-out prevention than a standard air spring
  3. Tunable “platform” for a playful feel.

Essentially the GENIE system provides superior bump force management (16.3% better than a traditional air sprung shock) and 39% fewer severe bottom-outs according to the data. This gives you the best of both worlds – no longer do you need to choose between coil & air when picking a shock. You can have the coil feel, with all the tunability of air!

Unmatched Personalisation

Stumpjumper 15 is Specialized’s most personalizable trail bike yet.

You can make the most of 6 different geometry settings, allowing you to hone the bikes performance for any style of riding or terrain. The head angle and bottom bracket height can be adjusted to suit, and you can also choose your perfect wheelsize with aftermarket shock links!

This Stumpy keeps expanding my perception of how hard it can be ridden. It’s nuts. It begs you to air into sections that you used to brake into.” – Matt Hunter
