The new 2021 Slash mountain bikes from Trek are more enduro, but still retain their trail manners:
Trek changed the scene with the introduction of the Slash a few years ago, unleashing long travel, 29 inch wheeled full suspension MTB’s into the market.
For 2021 they have completely reworked the platform to enhance enduro race capability, while still preserving the ultimate trail bike experience thanks to a host of tweaks and a number of big changes.
One of the most obvious upgrades is a 10mm increase in travel front and rear taking the bikes up to 170mm front and 160 rear. This is achieved with a new suspension layout and a new RockShox Thru Shaft shock that’s exclusive to Slash models.
KnockBlock 2.0 now gives a much wider degree of movement for the tight stuff, or cramped shuttles, while still retaining it’s frame saving abilities.
There’s a full down tube guard to protect the frame from debris and shuttle damage.
And integrated storage for tools and snacks, so no more backpacks or bum bags.
There are some significant enhancements in the geometry for 2021 to increase both downhill and uphill capability, and everything is kept light for the ultimate in agility.
If you are into enduro races, make regular trips to bike parks, or simply ride hard on gnarly trails, the Trek Slash range should be on your radar.
