By visiting the Balfe’s Bikes website, you are agreeing to comply with and be bound by the following terms and conditions of use, which together with our privacy policy govern Balfe's Bikes relationship with you in relation to this website.

Terms of Service

By placing an order via our website (www.balfesbikes.co.uk), you are offering to purchase a product on and subject to the following terms and conditions. All orders are subject to availability and confirmation of the order price.
Dispatch times may vary according to availability and any guarantees or representations made as to delivery times are subject to any delays resulting from postal delays for which we will not be responsible. Please see our (Delivery page) for further information.
In order to contract with Balfe’s Bikes, you must be over 18 years of age. Balfe’s Bikes retains the right to refuse any request made by you. When placing an order you undertake that all details you provide to us are true and accurate, that you are an authorized user of the credit or debit card, or bank account used to place your order and that there are sufficient funds to cover the cost of the goods. All prices advertised are subject to such changes.

Our Contract

When you place an order, you will receive an acknowledgement email confirming receipt of your order. This email will only be an acknowledgement and will not constitute acceptance of your order. Balfe’s Bikes retains the right to accept or reject this before processing the order. A contract between us for the purchase of the goods will not be formed until your payment has been approved by us, the prices have been verified, and the order has been processed and dispatched. A dispatch email will be sent confirming this.
Please note for orders with multiple items they may be dispatched in separate parcels and at separate times; and that receipt of the dispatch notification does not constitute a formal contract for the full order until all items have been dispatched.

Pricing and Availability

Whilst we try and ensure that all descriptions and prices on this website are accurate, errors can occur. If we discover an error in the price of any goods which you have ordered, we will inform you of this as soon as possible and give you the option of reconfirming your order at the correct price or cancelling it. If we are unable to contact, we shall cancel the order. If you cancel the order and have already paid for the goods, you will receive a full refund. Where applicable, prices are inclusive of VAT. Delivery costs will be charged in addition; such as additional charges where applicable and included in the 'Grand Total'.
This website may contain typographical errors or other errors or inaccuracies and may not be complete or current. We therefore reserve the right to correct any errors, inaccuracies or omissions and to change or update information at any time without prior notice. We reserve the right to refuse to fulfill any orders that you may place based on information on the website that may contain errors or inaccuracies, including, without limitation, errors, inaccuracies or out-of-date information regarding pricing, shipping, payment terms, or return policies.

Product Specifications

Published specifications and suitability information is the best available at the time. Balfe’s Bikes shall not be held responsible for the accuracy of any advice given regarding the suitability of any parts required for the repair of an item. If you have ordered an item that has an unsuitable product description, we will rectify this providing you a full refund upon the return of the item. Please see our Returns page for details.
We recommend that all spare parts are fitted by a competent person in accordance with the manufacturer specifications. Balfe’s Bikes cannot be held liable for any damage caused by the fitting of a spare part.
Please ensure that you have read the warranty conditions before attempting to install a part or otherwise repair item. Balfe’s Bikes cannot be held responsible if the item is damaged or your warranty is voided. Some manufacturers guarantee may stipulate that you use a suitably qualified cycle technician.

Availability / Estimated Delivery Times

We do our best to ensure availability of all advertised products and endeavor to dispatch all parts within the quoted time, some products presented are our held within our supplier’s warehouses fr these items we are reliant upon third party information. If there is a delay to your order, we will inform you of this via email and the product will be dispatched as soon as it is available, should the delay be unacceptable you are welcome to change to an alternative product or to cancel the order, please contact us [email protected] with your order number. If you have ordered multiple items they may arrive separately.
Sometimes we are unable to fulfil orders because the items have been discontinued by our suppliers. If you have placed an order for an item that is now discontinued, we will inform you as soon as possible and offer you an alternative product if one is available.

Payment

Payment over the Internet can be made via our secure checkout pages using Visa, Visa Electron, Mastercard, American Express (Amex), Switch/Maestro and PayPal. Card charges will appear on your statement as "Balfe’s Bikes Limited”
We reserve the right to ship only to the registered address of your payment card.
You can pay by using our finance option. Please note that if you choose to pay by finance, your order will not be dispatched until all agreements and signatures have been verified.
Alternatively, you can pay by using a Cycle to Work option (or other tax-free schemes). This is only available on eligible products and there may be limits stipulated by the scheme provider as to the maximum valueof the voucher. If paying with a Cycle to Work option, your order will not be dispatched until all agreements and vouchers have been verified.
All prices are quoted in pounds sterling (£) and include Value Added Tax (VAT) at UK rates (If applicable). It may be necessary to adjust prices in the event of an increase in VAT rates, or as a result of a manufacturer price increase. Customers are entitled to a full refund if this is not acceptable.
Due to the nature of the payment system your credit/debit card payment will be taken at the point of processing. If a problem with availability or delivery should occur, your payment method will be refunded as swiftly as possible. The refund may take a few working days to show on your account, depending on the payment provider.

If you have paid by card, PayPal, or Apple Pay, then payment will be taken up front.

For V12 finance, your first re-payment will go out a few weeks after your bike is dispatched/collected. For Klarna orders, it would depend on which finance option you have chosen. All finance 18+, T&C apply, Credit subject to status.

Governed Law

Balfe’s Bikes Terms and Conditions shall be governed in accordance with English Law. Disputes arising in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.

Delivery

UK orders are delivered via DPD couriers or our own vehicles. We reserve the right to substitute alternative services.
Delivery normally takes 1-2 working days from point of dispatch for UK orders. Once checked and signed for all goods are the responsibility of the purchaser. This does not affect your statutory rights as a consumer.
The customer is required to notify us, in writing, of any shortage, misdelivery or other discrepancies within 5 working days of receiving the goods, thereafter the buyer shall be liable for any such discrepancy.

Cancellations

Orders may be cancelled at any time between the order being placed and the order being dispatched. If the item has already been dispatched, then please see our Returns Page for details of how to return
Under The Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000 you have the right to cancel your order in writing (except for customized and special order products) seven working days beginning with the day after the day on which the consumer receives the goods.

Reviews and Comments

We encourage you to leave reviews, comments and product questions on our website. We regularly monitor this content and we reserve the right to remove, reject or edit it at any time. When submitting information to our website as a review, product question or customer comment you understand that what you have submitted is not copyright protected and you are permitting its appearance on the Balfe’s Bikes website.

Liability

We shall not be liable for incidental or consequential damages or expenses. This includes, but is not limited to, damage to property, lost income, profits, economic or commercial losses and third-party claims.
We will do our best to get all orders dispatched as quickly as possible. We have no liability to you for any delay in the delivery of products ordered. You have the right to cancel delayed orders at any time and get a refund prior to the item being dispatched.

Complaints

In the rare instance that you may need to complain, complaints should be sent to [email protected]. We aim to respond to complaints within 24 hours, we aim to resolve all complaints as quickly as feasible so you can get back out riding.

Pricing Policy

Our pricing policy for the goods and services that we sell at Balfe’s Bikes, which includes labour for repairs, components fitted to repairs, bicycles, components, accessories and clothing is derived based upon the overall margins we need to make as a business to provide all of our valued customers with an extremely high quality of service.
We are continually investing within our business, across an array of areas including; ensuring our workshop technicians have the latest tools and equipment and are frequently trained on the newest technologies, our stores are modern and welcoming, and that our colleagues are paid at least to the living wage level. We aim to charge a fair price for each of these services and products which enables us to continually invest in providing the services and customer experience that you have come to expect.
We recognize that we will not always be the cheapest and that you do have a choice. We very much appreciate the ongoing support of all of our customers, and we hope to be here over the decades ahead to provide you with a premium service, products and advice across each of our local stores and via our multi-channel proposition.

Customer Rewards

You can earn Rewards on all products and servicing, except gift vouchers and shipping charges. We operate a base level of reward, and also run periodic promotions.
Customer Rewards Points are are awarded when your purchase is paid in full and completed in store or when despatched for home delivery. Points can take up to 12 hours to be available to spend on your customer account.
Customer Rewards expire if there is no activity on your account for a year. If you do not accrue or redeem points for a year, your account will be deactivated and points removed. We will send you periodic reminders of your available balance, so you will have plenty of warning before points expire.
All payment methods qualify for rewards accrual, however you will be unable to redeem rewards when you use PayPal checkout, as their gateway does not support.
Should you return an item, points awarded or spent will be reversed. If you have already spent the Customer Rewards awarded for the item you are returning, this amount will be deducted from the refund.
If you do not wish to be part of this complimentary loyalty scheme, please write to us (email is fine) and formally request to have your Customer Profile amended to exclude Customer Rewards.
Customer Rewards points are non-transferrable and have no cash alternative.
