The Alpha Flight RoS Women's Jacket is Castelli's best for riding in mild winter conditions, made with wind protection on the front and sleeves, breathability and light water repellent on the back and a separate insulation layer to aid temperature regulation.
The areas of the jacket most likely to encounter the elements are made from wind repellent but highly breathable Nano Flex Light, while the back is Nano Flex Extra Dry. This is even more breathable, allowing maximum dispersal of heat and moisture so that you never have to worry about overheating or getting chilled by sweat when you stop.
The inner layer, meanwhile, is warm but very light Polartec® Alpha. It's found at the sleeves, at the back, and most importantly as a separate vest layer at the front. This construction gives the jacket its versatility, ensuring that the layers can be closed one at a time or together, depending on whether fighting the elements, warmth or full-on protective cosiness are your priority at different parts of the route or as the weather fluctuates.
