The M6 is the everyday, any trail wheelset of the M Series that, thanks to its light weight, fast and reliable design, is perfect for backcountry and mountain rides. It never sacrifices durability to shave grams and delivers a reassuring balance of traction, compliance and dampening.
The front and rear rims are individually designed, with the front being wider and more compliant, so that it moulds to the ground and absorbs impact before it reaches the rider. The rear rim, meanwhile, is slightly narrower for effective power transfer and toughness.
Both are incredibly durable and will give you the confidence to ride all day on rough, technical trails, especially since, in deference to trail riders' preference for 2.4 to 2.5″ wide tyres, they are marginally wider than the M5 rims.
They're also shallow (though again very marginally deeper than the M5 rims), meaning increased vertical compliance for better shock absorption and a better balance of compliance, weight saving and reliability. Both front and rear rims use ENVE's wide hookless bead technology to protect against pinch flats. As the rear wheel often takes more shocks that the front, the rim bead on there is slightly wider, for an extra level of support.
Built leveraging the learnings from the M5 Pro XC race model and the M9 Pro gravity wheelset, the M6 is still remarkably light, but prioritises support, traction and comfort over weight considerations, being intended for all riding between cross-country and gravity racing disciplines, as well as use on light E-MTBs.
It features ENVE's new InnerdriveTM Straight Pull Mountain Hub, with its oversized ratchet drive system and 80 tooth ratchet (as standard) to ensure reliable engagement at 4.5°. This provides greater efficiency and is low maintenance, yet easily serviceable. Its premium grade, full stainless steel bearings reduce drag, while its Perfect Preload system in turn prolongs the life of those bearings.
The wheelset delivers 47% more impact resistance and 39% more pinch flat resistance than its predecessor, the M630, and is 40% more durable than target competitor wheels, despite being lighter. Make it your choice for riding fast, winding trails with peace of mind.
