The ENVE Foundation AG25 Wheelset is designed for everything from bike packing to gravel racing.
“AG” stands for “Adventure Gravel” and this is the guiding principle behind the AG25. Part of ENVE's new Foundation collection, the AG25 brings ENVE's core technologies and trickle-down features from the ENVE G Series to riders seeking out adventure and ultimately looking to ride for the fun of it.
The AG25 is a 700c gravel wheel that can take tyres up to 50mm, responding perfectly to the larger clearances of modern gravel and adventure bikes. The rim shape was developed by ENVE that would smooth out the ride while still delivering a confidence-inspiring feel when it comes to handling.
The AG25 uses ENVE's Wide Hookless Bead to minimise the chance of pinch flats. The wider leading edge of the rim disperses any impact from debris or potholes over a wider area. This leads to a 60+% improvement in pinch flat resistance as well as a 30+% improvement in impact strength.
Moulded spoke and valve holes mean the carbon fibres in the AG25 run through the wheel uninterrupted as opposed to being cut. This makes for a stronger, lighter rim structure. Another benefit is that ENVE can control the shape of the rim at the spoke/nipple interface with greater precision. ENVE rims feature a conical nipple seat that prevents premature spoke fatigue while also ensuring wheel-build reliability.
The new InnerdriveTM Hub features a 100% ENVE designed drive mechanism, with oversized, 42mm steel ratchets, meaning less stress on the teeth and in turn longer bearing life, better durability and less requirement for maintenance.
ENVE's road and gravel bikes come with the 60t ratchet, which engages at 6°, as standard. It offers the perfect balance between drag and engagement for drop bar applications.
Should you require faster running or more effective hub engagement, though, you can opt post-market for a ratchet with a choice of three different tooth counts from 40-100, with more teeth resulting in better engagement but a higher need for maintenance. Choose what qualities matter most to you, efficiency, response or reliability, and select your ratchet accordingly.
The reduced need for upkeep is compounded by a new premium hubshell, engineered to incorporate straight pull, anti-twist spokes only, for better builds and no spoke creak.
There's also a retention clip, to keep the ratchets and spring secure, even when the cassette is off, a tuned wave washer that eliminates the need for bearing preload adjustments, for improved efficiency and Perfect PreloadTM every time.
The ENVE Foundation AG25 Gravel Wheelset comes with ENVE's leading Factory Limited Warranty and Incidental Damage Protection. The Factory Limited Warranty protects buyers for five years from defects in material and workmanship, while the Incidental Damage Protection gives protection from damage caused to their wheels while riding, crashing or transporting bikes. Beyond these three years, there is a prorated discount structure available.
