The Magene QED Lightweight Split Chainring is constructed from 7075 ultra-light aircraft-grade aluminium alloy, offering an exquisite balance between weight and rigidity. Weighing only 143g, it provides outstanding stiffness, abrasion resistance, and deformation resistance, making it an ideal upgrade for riders seeking improved performance without compromising durability. The QED series is designed to cope with the stringent demands of professional training and competition, allowing cyclists to feel the power of its mechanical properties at all times.
Using FEA-based stress contour analysis, Magene reinforces high-load areas to minimise flex under power. This structural reinforcement reduces deformation under heavy load, ensuring consistent performance during sprints, climbs, and long-distance efforts. Precision CNC machining guarantees uniformity, accurate tooth shaping, and perfect alignment for reliable drivetrain engagement. This cutting-edge manufacturing process ensures that all components work together to function flawlessly.
Self-Developed Tooth Design:
Magene’s third-generation tooth profile enhances chain retention, shifting speed, and overall transmission efficiency. Following extensive research on wear characteristics, the redesigned tooth roots, grooves, and shapes allow the chain to move from the small ring to the big ring in as little as one-fifth of a crank revolution, even under heavy load. This ensures accurate and smooth shifting at different speeds and in various conditions.
Wider tooth spacing and strengthened tooth structures further improve mechanical transition efficiency and extend the lifespan of both the chain and chainring by approximately 3%. The QED lightweight split chainring has proven its reliability by passing more than 100,000 fatigue tests and over 40,000 kilometres of endurance testing in the Magene Lab.
