The woom EXPLORE e 6 is a lightweight, sporty 26" electric children's bike designed for riders aged ten and up who want to go further and take on more challenging adventures. Its child-specific AA 6061 aluminium frame combines balanced handling with the MAHLE XS30 electric drive system, providing assistance while retaining a natural riding experience.
The 250W MAHLE XS30 system delivers up to 45Nm of torque with three assistance modes and support up to 25km/h. Its removable 171Wh external battery weighs just 1.2kg and provides a claimed range of around 50km on flat terrain in the lowest assistance mode. Assistance can be controlled using the button on the battery or through the MAHLE app, and the bike can also be ridden normally with the battery removed.
An 8-speed microSHIFT Acolyte drivetrain provides straightforward shifting, while Promax hydraulic disc brakes with child-specific adjustable levers offer dependable control. Schwalbe Billy Bonkers 26x2.0" tyres provide grip and low rolling resistance across mixed terrain, while the adjustable cockpit and ergonomic contact points help maintain a comfortable fit as the rider grows.
Children must be aged 14 or over in the UK to legally ride an e-bike on public roads or spaces. Laws and regulations regarding the use of electric bicycles vary significantly by geographic area, even within a particular country or state. Prior to your purchase, in addition to making sure your child is ready to handle the added acceleration and weight an electric bike can provide, be sure to inform yourself of all applicable requirements and restrictions, including age restrictions. Always wear a helmet and practice riding with your child in a controlled environment before going on their first ride.
