Redeveloped to be lighter, more breathable and more durable while maintaining a high merino wool content, this long-sleeve base layer is designed to sit close to the skin beneath Rapha jerseys and jackets. Its refined construction reduces bulk and moisture retention while retaining the natural performance characteristics that make merino particularly well suited to changing riding conditions.
The addition of elastane creates a closer fit to the body for improved comfort and easier layering. Merino wool provides excellent thermoregulation and moisture management, helping maintain a comfortable temperature as conditions and effort levels change. It's also naturally antibacterial and odour resistant for lasting comfort on longer rides.
Versatile enough for use throughout the year, the base layer can be worn beneath a thermal jersey or jacket during winter or paired with a midweight jersey in spring and milder conditions.

Our staff find that Rapha generally fits true to size, but the intended fit varies by collection. Core, Classic and Brevet offer progressively more accommodating cycling fits, while Pro Team garments are deliberately close-fitting and aerodynamic. Trail and casual garments have a more relaxed cut. If you're between sizes, choose the larger size for comfort or the smaller size for a closer performance fit. Bib shorts are an exception to the sizing up rule – they're supposed to fit snugly, and sizing up can compromise the position of the pad and overall support.
