The DMR DeathGrip 2 is an evolution of the original grip design, refined with input from Brendan Fairclough, Olly Wilkins, and the DMR Team. It maintains the features riders know while introducing fundamental improvements for enhanced performance.
Design and Performance
The grip pattern features a soft mushroom section for comfort in the thumb and forefinger area, helping to prevent blisters. A diamond knurl provides grip in all conditions and terrains, while the waffle layout underside holds fingers in the perfect position for control. A tapered core ensures the grip is firmly mounted to the handlebars using a single lockring.
Key Improvements
The DeathGrip 2 includes an exposed core end for added durability, a new injection-moulded end cap, and a slimmer, more integrated collar lockring. The flanges are now slimmer with a new relief design, and the mushroom, waffle, and knurl patterns are positioned for optimal performance. Constructed from soft, comfortable, and durable krayton rubber with a 20A durometer compound, these grips are lightweight and reliable.
Installation Guide
- Preparation: Remove old grips and bar end plugs, then thoroughly clean and degrease the handlebar.
- Space Requirement: Ensure there is at least 130mm of free bar space for each grip.
- Fitting: Push the grips onto the handlebar until they are fully seated. A soft-faced mallet may be used to fully engage the tapered end.
- Securing: Tighten the collar bolts to a torque of 2Nm. Do not overtighten; ensure the grips do not rotate under force.
