The Lazer Compact KinetiCore is designed to fit a wide range of riders, but because it uses a single shell size (54–61cm) there are a few things to be aware of:
Before You Buy
- Measure your head first: Measure the circumference of your head approximately 2cm above your eyebrows. This helmet is designed to fit head sizes from 54–61cm.
- Best fit in the middle of the range: Riders with head measurements around 56–59cm generally achieve the most balanced fit. Those at the extreme ends of the range (54cm or 61cm) may find the fit slightly less tailored than a helmet available in multiple shell sizes.
- Head shape matters: The Advanced TurnSys adjustment system accommodates a variety of head shapes, but fit can still vary between individuals. If you have a particularly round or particularly narrow/oval head, it's worth trying the helmet on if possible.
- Position correctly: The front of the helmet should sit level on your head, covering most of your forehead—around one to two finger widths above your eyebrows. It shouldn't tilt backwards.
- Adjust the TurnSys dial: Tighten the rear adjustment dial until the helmet feels secure. It should stay in place when you gently shake your head without creating pressure points.
- Set the straps correctly: The side straps should form a "V" just below each ear, and the chin strap should be snug enough that only one or two fingers fit comfortably between the strap and your chin.
- Integrated visor: The visor is fixed and cannot be adjusted or removed, so ensure you're happy with its coverage before purchasing.
If you're between sizes or know you usually struggle with one-size helmets, a model available in multiple shell sizes may provide a more customised fit. While the Compact KinetiCore's 54–61cm range suits many riders, no single-size helmet fits everyone equally well.
