The Shimano 105 R7020 Dual Control Levers bring the all-condition confidence of hydraulic disc brakes and refined ergonomics to the quick and intuitive shifting expected from Shimano 105. The R7000 series hydraulic disc brakes offer greater rider control in all conditions. With convenient One Way Bleeding and an easy hose joint system, installation and adjustment are kept simple.
These levers feature an improved ergonomic shifter design that has trickled down from the Ultegra R8000 series, offering 15mm of reach adjustment. The internal shifting unit has been redesigned for easier access to cables, providing near-instant shifting operation that shares the same effortless mechanism as top-tier Shimano systems. They are 11-speed compatible.
R7070 Flat Mount Calipers
The R7070 calipers utilise Ice Technologies to combat fade, which can occur to disc brake rotors and pads during long downhill rides. By adopting a clad disc brake rotor blade with a 3-layer sandwich structure of stainless steel, aluminium, and stainless steel, the system provides better radiation performance. Radiation fins on the pads further assist in cooling, providing long pad life, less noise, less fade, and a lightweight construction.
The calipers feature oversized 22mm ceramic pistons to achieve optimised lightweight, high rigidity, and heat dissipation. These pistons transfer hydraulic power directly to the brake pad, with the ceramic material preventing heat transfer for constant, stable braking and efficient stopping power.
One Way Bleeding
One Way Bleeding was developed for quick and easy prevention of air in the hydraulic system. The oil route has been streamlined throughout the system to prevent air bubbles from being captured. Combined with a funnel tool and mineral oil, this provides an easy and clean bleeding system.
